Usage:
CHECKNL [path]filename.ext
CHKNL will attempt to parse a nodelist or nodelist segment and create
a file named FLUNKWN
Entries in FLUNKWN are in one of several formats:
1. Bad entry for: Zone(region):Net/Node
Entry: [original nodelist line]
This is followed by one or more of the following:
a. Bad flags: [list of unknown flags]
b. Flags improperly located *after* U entry: [list of flags]
c. Baud rate value is illegal
2. Unresolved error message found after 1(13):265/116
(followed by the line or lines containing the error message)
CHECKNL only considers the flags found in FTS-5 and in the comments at
the end of the Fidonet nodelist as being legal flags. All others will
be reported as illegal unless they are located *after* a U flag.
Note that according to FTS-5, once a U flag is encountered, the rest of
the nodelist entry may be ignored! That's the reason for 1b, as
compliant nodelist processors will ignore such flags.
Embedded spaces will cause a flag to be kicked out. For example,
"XA ," will get kicked out. So if nothing else seems to be wrong with
an entry that has been kicked out, check for trailing spaces.
Also, FTS-5 specifies a *length limit* on the Userflag. This applies
to everything from the U to the end of the line.
CHKNL converts everything to uppercase before processing it.
If anything is found to be wrong, drop me a note!
And if you find it useful, please send $5.
